Why did we call you?

If you have been contacted by one of our call centre interviewers it means that we are trying to conduct a research interview with you on behalf of one of our clients. The following information should help to answer any questions you may have about our call. Our call centre issues the CLI (Caller Line Identification) of 01233 648505.

Who is Facts International Ltd?
Facts International Ltd is an independent market research agency based in Ashford, Kent. Facts is part of the Research Division of Chime Communications plc. (www.chime.plc.uk). Each month Facts International calls approximately 180,000 people to conduct telephone interviews for a variety of client organisations on many different subject matters. You can verify that we are a bona fide market research agency by calling the MRS (Market Research Society) on Freephone 0500 396 999.

Why did you call me?
We may have called you because you are the customer of one of our clients. Our client will have provided us with sample of their customers to contact. Alternatively, your number may have been generated randomly by computer to enable us to conduct surveys across all regions and types of households to give a representative sample of respondents across the country, particularly when conducting opinion polls.

My telephone number is ex-directory and / or I am registered with the Telephone Preference Service (TPS) so you should not have called me.

When our clients provide us with a sample of their customers often it means we do contact customers who are registered with the Telephone Preference Service (TPS) or who are listed as ex-directory. Legally, we are allowed to do this. There is no legal requirement to screen research samples against the preferences services (such as the Telephone Preference Service) when conducting market research. TPS is there to prevent unsolicited sales calls. A market research survey is not a sales call.

The ex-directory status means that a named customer cannot be traced through the telephone directories. It is not in itself a reason not to contact a customer for research purposes. If companies did not contact ex-directory customers for feedback then any market research they commissioned would not be truly representative of their customers. This is why customers who are ex-directory are often included in the contact lists we are provided.

If I take part in a survey for you will someone try and sell me something?
No. We are simply collecting information to aid our client to improve service standards and / or gain an insight into your views. At no time will we or our clients try to sell you something as a result of taking part in one of our surveys. We also will not pass any of your details to a third party for any purposes.

If you have any further questions please contact us on 01233 648501.
